about elizabeth heidenreich, psy.d. lp

Here’s a little more about me.

I’m a Minneapolis based therapist who specializes in therapy for adults with anxiety, ADHD, burn-out, depression, and other midlife concerns.

I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota. In my work, I take a flexible, integrative approach to help clients make immediate and positive changes while also working to better understand and address the underlying issues that can leave us feeling stuck.

My formal education and training is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which explores how past experiences and relationships shape our current ways of interacting with others and our selves. I also incorporate mindfulness and evidence-based techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These modalities focus on helping us directly challenge the current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that can pull us off track.

In addition to many years of private practice with a focus on both psychological assessment and individual psychotherapy, I have worked in college counseling and am a former Assistant Clinical Faculty member at The George Washington University. I spent several years as an adult living in Berlin, Germany and had a small international counseling practice while living there. I now live in the Twin Cities with my family and enjoy gardening, baking sourdough bread, going for restorative walks, and traveling.

We don’t get to choose what we think or feel, but we do get to choose how we respond.
